What makes me a Concordia Professional?
I’m a registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist (Equine) working with referring vets on all types of behaviour problems from handling problems through aggression to stereotypies. I use kind, evidence-based and welfare-centred methods to help owners change their horse’s behaviour, dedicating my practice to supporting clients’ understanding of how they can care for and train their horse with compassion and empathy. I am committed to making the horse world a better place for horses than it was when I found it many years ago, by transforming both species’ experience of the horse-human relationship, this is my aim in all the writing I publish, and in my mentoring and supervision relationships with new practitioners and students. As a Transactional Analysis psychotherapist I have developed a new model of communication between owners, horses and practitioners which develops empathic, effective engagement and understanding of humans and horses, taking us all towards a better world of shared compassion and empathy.
